Jessica D. Blankshain (@jblankshain) is an assistant professor of National Security Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College, where she teaches courses on national security decision-making and civil-military relations. She is co-author of Decision-Making in American Foreign Policy: Translating Theory into Practice from Cambridge University Press and a contributor to Reconsidering American Civil-Military Relations: The Military, Society, Politics, and Modern War from Oxford University Press. Her work has also appeared in International Studies Perspectives, The Texas National Security Review, Orbis, and The Monkey Cage blog. Dr. Blankshain has a Ph.D. from Harvard University in political economy and government.
