Ben Batros

Batros (@BatrosBen) is a consultant on international law and accountability mechanisms with Strategy for Humanity. He is a legal strategist, analyst, and advocate specializing in international law, human rights, and accountability mechanisms. He served five years, from 2005 to 2010, as appeals counsel at the International Criminal Court, Office of the Prosecutor, and recently co-authored The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court: Commentary and Digest of Jurisprudence. He previously served in the Australian Attorney-General’s Department, working on Australia’s membership of the ICC and on regional strategies to address transnational crime (in particular people smuggling and trafficking in persons). Most recently, he worked with the Open Society Justice Initiative, conducting strategic human rights litigation before international and regional courts, and consulting on tax havens, inequality, and international economic governance
