Evelyn Aswad

Evelyn Aswad (@EvelynAswad) is a Professor of Law and the Herman G. Kaiser Chair in International Law at the University of Oklahoma College of Law.  She is also the Director of its Center for International Business & Human Rights.  Prior to joining the College of Law, she served for about 14 years as an attorney in the Legal Bureau at the U.S. Department of State, including as the director of the its human rights office from 2010-2013.  Her scholarship and public speaking focus on issues regarding international freedom of expression online.  Prior to joining the State Department, she clerked for Judge Arthur Gajarsa of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and worked as an attorney at Arnold & Porter in Washington, DC.  She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Law Center and School of Foreign Service.
