Dr. Mutasim A. Ali (LinkedIn, X) is a legal advisor at the Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights, where he co-leads its Sudan Taskforce for Accountability and Justice. He also leads the Center’s sanctions program, where he authors independent legal analyses and files submissions for targeted sanctions. He is a scholar-practitioner of constitutional law, international human rights, and post-conflict governance.

Dr. Ali’s commentary and analysis have also been published in publications such as the HORN Institute, Foreign Policy, HaaretzThe Hill, Time, and the Atlantic Council. His expertise has also been featured in numerous television appearances. He has testified before the Canadian Parliament and delivered presentations at institutions across Africa, Europe, and the United States.
