Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Friday charged 13 Russian nationals and three Russian organizations with conspiracy to defraud the United States, among other charges, in connection with their sophisticated social media campaign aimed at interfering in the 2016 Presidential Election.
While many of the details of this campaign had previously been reported, Wright and I spoke about the significance of these indictments. As he put it, the indictments “have moved information out of intelligence agencies and out of background sourcing in the media into a document that has been blessed by normal citizens in a grand jury.”
