Payal K. Shah

Payal K. Shah (Bluesky – LinkedIn – X) is a global legal expert on sexual and reproductive health and rights. She currently serves as Director of Research, Legal, and Advocacy at Physicians for Human Rights (PHR). She previously led PHR’s Program on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones. Prior to PHR, Payal directed the Asia program at the Center for Reproductive Rights. Payal has contributed to documentation of and accountability for gender-based violence, attacks on health, and other violations of human rights around the world, including in India, the Philippines, the United States of America, Ethiopia, Syria, Nepal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya
