James O’Neil

James O’Neil is a humanitarian program manager for HelpAge International, responsible for programming in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has worked in humanitarian emergencies and international development since 2010, with experience in six countries in the region: Colombia, Mexico, Haiti, Panama, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. He has conducted programming in the areas of agriculture livelihoods; economic inclusion; water, sanitation, and hygiene; shelter; disaster-risk reduction; and health and emergency response.  James holds a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution from Portland State University. He is also on LinkedIn.

Libia Patricia Ipuana Epiayu (known as Señora Livia), a Wayuu village elder in Colombia's La Guajira Peninsula, works in October 2023 next to solar panels and a purified water storage tank that she helped bring to her community.
