
Amy Markopolous
Amy Markopoulos (LinkedIn) is a former career corruption prosecutor and senior Justice Department official. She most recently served as an Associate Deputy Attorney General and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Deputy Attorney General. In that role, she oversaw the Department’s corporate resolutions and worked on high-level interagency initiatives involving national security, corporate crime, and emerging technologies.
From 2015 to 2023, Ms. Markopoulos held leadership roles in the DOJ’s Criminal Division, Fraud Section, including as Assistant Chief of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Unit and Counsel to the Chief of the Health Care Fraud Unit.
Before joining the DOJ, Ms. Markopoulos was an associate at two major law firms. She began her legal career clerking for Judge Thomas M. Hardiman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and served as an appellate attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
She holds a J.D. from William & Mary Law School, where she graduated valedictorian, and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.
