Stacey-Leigh Manuel (LinkedIn) is the Deputy Director of the Women’s Rights Division at Human Rights Watch. Prior to HRW, she served in multiple leadership roles at the Open Society Foundations, including as Senior Program Manager in the Public Health Program. There, she led philanthropic strategies on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and later co-led a global initiative on China and the world, working across regions to align international human rights priorities. She has also served as Attorney at the Women’s Legal Centre and Director of Legal Services at SWEAT in South Africa. Stacey-Leigh holds law degrees from the University of Cape Town and the University of the Western Cape.
