Danielle L. Lupton (@ProfLupton) is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Colgate University. Her research examines the impact of political elites on international security, foreign policy, and civil-military relations. She is the author of Reputation for Resolve: How Leaders Signal Determination in International Politics (Cornell University Press, 2020). Her research is published in Political Analysis, Political Research Quarterly, International Interactions, Journal of Global Security Studies, and Ethics & International Affairs. She has written on civil-military relations, international security, and coercive foreign policy for outlets such as The Washington Post’s Monkey Cage blog, ForeignPolicy.com, Political Violence at a Glance, and The Ambassador’s Brief. Dr. Lupton holds a Ph.D. from Duke University in political science.
