Michael Kugelman (@MichaelKugelman) is director of the South Asia Institute at the Wilson Center. Previously, he was Asia Program deputy director and senior associate for South Asia at the Wilson Center. He is also a weekly columnist for Foreign Policy magazine and writes its weekly South Asia Brief newsletter. His main areas of focus are Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan, and their relations with each other and with the United States. His recent projects focus on the future of US-Pakistan relations, the state of US-India tech cooperation, and lessons learned from the US war in Afghanistan. His work has been published in many major media outlets, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNN, NPR, and the BBC. He is also often featured on media platforms in South Asia.
