Adam Fefer (LinkedIn) is Senior Researcher at Horizons Project and a Researcher at the Stanford Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law. His research focuses on democratic and authoritarian transitions, ethnic conflict, and federalism, with a geographical focus on the Horn of Africa, South Asia, Levant, and the United States. Adam’s recent publications include Shifting Pillar Loyalties: A Guide for the Pro-Democracy Community and Regime Change and Minority Risks: Syrian Alawites After Assad. He holds a PhD from UC San Diego, where he taught courses in comparative politics and political theory. Adam has worked with the University of Michigan Center for Emerging Democracies, Johns Hopkins SNF Agora Institute, and the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict.
