Vasabjit Banerjee

Dr. Vasabjit Banerjee (@vasabjit_b) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Mississippi State University, where he teaches comparative politics and international relations. His primary research interests are contentious politics and the local political-economies of state-formation in developing societies; specifically South Asia, Latin America, and Southern Africa. He also conducts research on electoral institutions and domestic influences on foreign policies of developing countries.

His research has appeared in the International Political Science ReviewJournal of Asian and African StudiesJournal of Elections, Public Opinions and Parties, Journal of Current Chinese Affairs, and Representation. 

He is the author of “Undoing the Revolution: Comparing Elite Subversion of Peasant Rebellions” (Temple University Press, Spring 2019).
